Last night's eagerly anticipated basketball derby between Tenerife's two top clubs did not disappoint. Newly-promoted Socas Canarias, the smaller of the two, did the double over their bigger neighbours and settled the argument over are the better side at present.

La Laguna - 27.03.2008 - A packed Rios Tejero Stadium in La Laguna was entertained to a brilliant game, which looked as if if had been sewn up by half-time when the home side took a 17-point lead. However, Tenerife Rural came back to within five points with minutes remaining and almost pulled off a remarkable win. Jason Detrick and Antwain Barbor were the top scorers for their respective teams.
