La Palma - 27.03.2008 - The ATR plane, with 70 passengers on board, was climbing into the sky when one of the turboprop engines began to leak oil anbd a smell of buring was noted. The captain immediately turned the aircraft around and landed again in La Palma, where the passengers, who included a 40-strong party of schoolchildren, were taken off and put on other flights. According to the El Día newspaper, several elderly passengers needed to be comforted after the incident and some were reluctant to board another plane.
